How To Marlin 336 serial numbers by date: 6 Strategies That Work

Going by the serial number charts, the model 336-44 Marlin was made 1963 and 1964. Two years in production. The 336T in 44 mag was made 1965-1967, this is the Texan model. I have a 336-44 with a 'Z' prefix serial number. It's my favorite Marlin, I love it and shoot it regularly. NEVER has it jammed on me.Model 36: 1946 to 1947. 30-30, 32 Special. Model 36 is marked on the barrel, not on the tang as in the Model 1936 and earlier guns. Blued reciever. Serial numbers located on the lower tang under the lever. These are squarebolts and are not to be confused with later roundbolt Glenfield 36 (336 roundbolt action).Very good pictures. Per my log notes; the 336RC model is a REGULAR CARBINE. 30-30 Win, 32 Spl, & 30 Rem ctgs. Standard model carbine. Mfd 1948-68. *no CROSS BOLT safety on this model.
